We were trying to fly back from San Francisco to Columbus, OH on United Airlines on July 6th night. Due to SFO airport accident, United canceled the flight. Expedia did not bother to alert us. When we saw the news on TV, called expedia, they even did not aware of the issue. We end up spending nearly 2.5 hours on the phone. We explained why it is critical for us to return Columbus the next day.

The customer service was incompetent, not friendly. They kept talking about their version and not listening to our needs. One supervisor we spoke was more rude and just hang up.

Subsequently we ended up booking return flight in Southwest. It cost us $2200 more due to Expedia lack of respect for customers. We will not use expedia services hereafter. Not sure why expedia bother to call themselves as travel agency when they do not understand customer needs.

Monetary Loss: $2200.
