I booked a hotel the canceled it. I booked again for different days. Long story short even though I canceled the first one I never got a refund. I ended up paying twice. I called Expedia was on the phone for 45 minutes and they said I would get a refund it would show up on my next statement. It did not show up, I never got a refund. I tried for 5 months to resolve the $250 refund and they refused after. Very sad that I lost out all that... Read more

Went online to Expedia to book a "Book Now, Pay Later" hotel reservation. Nevertheless, my credit card WAS charged $438.60. I called Customer Service, in El Salvador, to request a cancellation and refund. I was told it was my error and the refund would take 5 business days, or longer, AND the refund would be made in two payments. Has all my flights cancelled by expedia .. I booked a flight on Nov 9 th and return on the 19th ,, Montreal to San Francisco. Expedia sends me a message on the 9th that is cancelled.. Thank you for sharing your story. My husband and I booked and paid for. A 2 night stay in Capitola CA. Through Expedia.The hotel had a 4.5 rating and was $200.00 for the first night and $180.00 for the second night. We thought this was a deal as it was a Holliday weekend. Our room was awful.dirty old. I pre-paid flight to NYC and hotel. When I arrived at the hotel it was the most old and disgusting hotel ever. I checked out and told the front desk I wanted to cancel my reservation. They informed me I would have to do it through Expedia. I have spent the last 5 days talking with Expedia Customer Service at least every day for 40 minutes and no resolution. I had to change my itinerary. I ended up cancelling and getting a credit. I spent 16 hours total getting the credit arranged after they told me the insurance I had purchased for trip coverage did not cover changes. During this time, I talked to at least 10 people over 2 days and maybe 10 phone calls. Now I am trying to rebook and am running into the same sort of terrible customer service. I've spent over an hour on the phone with Expedia (I'm still on hold at 1:15 hours). I keep getting transferred, and each time I beg the service person to make sure I get properly transferred to the rewards program quickly. This worked the second time, but I was directed to the wrong department and am still on hold. Booked a room then on the day of checking I get called from the Hotel said expedia over booked them and that they couldnt do anything because there were no rooms - Call expedia hold time is 3 hours!!!!!! Schedule a call get called back 4 hours later EVERY SINGLE ROOM IN LAS VEGAS WAS BOOKED. NOW I WAS STUCK IN VEGAS WITHOUT A HOTEL. Booked a hotel in Roatan, Honduras and paid over $600/night on a room that not only didn't have any of the nice to have amenities(Balcony, phone, TV, Safe etc.) but did not have running water and looked nothing like the advertisement on Expedia. Attempted several times to change ticket and was met by incompetence and real unprofessional response from supervisors and staff. Firstly, the accents made it really hard to understand what they were saying on the phone and for them to understand what I was saying.
