I have used Expedia for many travel related bookings for over 10 years now. I searched car rentals in Orlando through Expedia and found what I believed was a good deal with Economy Car Rental in Orlando.

This deal turned into a nightmare. It all started at the Orlando Airport. We called the courtesy phone and hiked from one end of the airport to the other. After being picked up, the driver went back and picked up other individuals at the SAME area we had just left!

So after the 15 minute shuttle drive to their remote location in Orlando we started the booking process and was then told we need to submit proof of Full Automobile coverage. We told the Economy pitch-man we wanted to waive their insurance because we have full coverage. Nope, must show documentation. I said I was never informed that a Auto policy document was necessary.

I checked Expedia's email confirmation and nothing (including a dead-link to local insurance requirements). I managed to pull up my Insurance information on my phone, but the gentleman said it needed to be printed. I asked if I could print it on his printer, No was the answer. Being late at night and ready to move on, we just paid the $20 PER DAY Insurance in addition to a slew of other hidden charges.

So my $140 weekly rental turned into $410!! I have submitted a complaint to Expedia with no response after 4 business days.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin

SCAM!!! Start of our Trip was a nightmare with Signature Car Rental.

As soon as they give you a different price then you had booked online, turn around go back to the airport and book elsewhere, don't waste your time at Signature, they are SCAMMING the people. I never had such a bad experience with a Rental place and saw so many costumers screaming at the counter over being taken advantage of..

I had a very similar experience booking Economy car rentals through Expedia. In addition to the inconvenience of an overcrowded shuttle to the car rental location, my $50 quote turned into $170 when all was said and done due to the mandatory insurance they force you to buy.

I was told that they don't accept "out of state insurance" and that this is clearly stated online when booking -- I checked my Expedia confirmation, and the relevant policy is buried two hyperlinks away where only a tiny percentage of customers will find it.

And it doesn't mention anything about "out of state". Don't waste your time and money -- book with a reputable car rental company that is located directly at the airport instead.
