It is very rare that I write or post anything negative about anyone, but in this case, I am willing to make an exception.
I booked a room through Expedia at a discounted rate from what it would have been, if I booked directly through the Hyatt, Westlake Village, CA.
Beautiful room, overlooking the pool.
All was going along swimmingly until I checked out. I was checking a day early, so the Hyatt told me I had to check out through Expedia.
I began the process at 11:00am. After being put on hold for up to one half hour, then told I needed to call a different number, I got the run-around for FOUR HOURS before I finally called the hotel directly.
I asked for the General Manager. I firmly told him that if he didn't check me out immediately, I was going to call American Express and Dispute the Entire Charge. In other words, they weren't going to get a penny.
Finally, the hotel aqueous and checked me out.
I will NEVER use Expedia again to save a few bucks a day. I lost a half day of work trying to check out. It took FOUR HOURS, for a process that has never taken me more than ONE MINUTE in the past. Simply drop off the key and say, "I am checked out of room 207."
EXPEDIA has now turned that simple one minute process into a Grueling FOUR HOUR nightmare.
TO CHECK OUT!
They need to fix this policy.
