NO customer service from Expedia

I made a hotel reservation through Expedia and received a confirmation by email. When I tried to check into the hotel they did not have my reservation and they were sold out. I called Expedia who claimed their computers were down and to call back in 2 hours. I told them this was not acceptable and I needed assistance. I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with 3 agents, 2 managers and long periods of time on hold. I had to call back twice after being cut off. In the end it turns out that Expedia takes no responsibility for the service they offer, left me to find another hotel on my own, pay the additional cost of a more expensive room with no discounts that I had with my additional reservation and added cab fare to get to another hotel. Expedia does not apologize, offer assistance or care. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA. They take advantage of people who believe they have received a service with honesty and integrity. Expedia has none!

Never ever again EXPEDIA

Booked Car for trip in Mexico including mandatory insurance. Car company (RENTAL CAR) did not accept the paid insurance and required an additional car insurance for US$540. Had no other choice and paid. Calling Expedia Hotline is an experience on its own. but after 30-40 min I got a representative on the line. Already a challenge to find a support hotline. I was with him for nearly an hour on the line where he called Rental Car and kept me on hold. After an hour he told me I should try again with Rental Car. I asked to speak with his Manager but he just confirmed to me that this is Expedia Policy. They are not responsible and just a broker and hang-up...

No Changes allowed even w/ Travel Protection | Expedia review from Long Beach, California

I booked a flight for myself and sister and also purchased thier travel protection plan, then my sister had to back out , Expedia would not allow any chages what so ever even though they sold me a Travel Protection insurance. I called and was on the phone for apox. 2 hours and talked to managers and got no satisfaction what so ever. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. THey kept telling me to call the Airline. When I called the Airline they said to talk to Expedia. It was the tyoical run around. I will never even consider using expedia again. The people I spoke to were apolgozing but as expected I was kept on hold for 20 or 30 minutes at a time while I was transferd from 1 agent to another, very frustrating. Loa Angeles....

Resolved: Expedia Car insurance not accepted in Costa Rica

Costa Rica Alamo did not accept Expedia Travel Car Protection insurance as a substitute for CDW (collision damage waiver protection) insurance. I had called Alamo and Expedia previously, and they told me it was acceptable. When I arrived at Alamo, they said they would not accept my insurance, and should have called Alamo Costa Rica rather than the International general line. I would have called, but I did not want to pay for international phone charges, and I assumed that Alamo was aware of its own policies. I had to call Expedia at the pick-up place and waste 30 minutes trying to cancel the insurance. Although an agent said that Expedia typically doesn't offer refunds at the time of pick-up, he spoke with his manager and gave me a full refund since Expedia was at fault. I am disappointed with Expedia for offering car insurance and processing refunds difficult. Based on reviews I read online, I should have known that Expedia's car insurance was bogus, at least for Costa Rica.

Worst experience ever. Among many other problems they booked my car rental in the wrong location. On hold for long periods without response or explanation. If you use Expedia for any purpose, don't use them Car rental and if you have to make any itinerary change, expect a nightmare.

My worst travel experience with Expedia

This was the worst experience I have ever had with booking travel. I booked through Expedia about 2 months ago and was notified that there was a schedule change and I had to contact them. I spent 8 hours on the phone, spoke to at least 6 agents and 2 supervisors. An airline cancelled one of my flights and I was told that unless I left a day earlier or later (and I could not) that I would have to pay for the other leg of my trip. While I did not make any change myself, I was told I still had to pay hundreds of dollars. Often it was difficult to understand the people from other part of the world and until I spoke to the very last person, no one really showed that they cared and often gave rote responses. I was disconnected, people said they would get back to me and did not. Only after complete persistence did I finally find someone willing and wanting to help. This was just terrible!

Expedia Car Rental at DIA- AVIS

Please do not book through Expedia for car rentals! Rental from 10:30pm Friday- 10:30pm Sunday (2 days) Our flight was supposed to get in at 10pm Friday night, so we booked to pick up at 10:30 at Denver International at AVIS. Our plane was one hour delayed and we arrived to AVIS at 12am. Line out the door, only TWO AVIS customer representatives and both picking their noses, excruciatingly slow. We finally received our car at 1:37am. Thats over one and half hours waiting in line to get to the desk and more and more buses of people were lining up!! AVIS charged us an additional $95 of protection, fees, and additional charges which Expedia already told us were included in our $352 reservation. Somehow, Expedia slipped in a $30 charge for their own protection. Expedia charged us over $130 more than what the daily rate of the car was posted! Because of AVIS' massive delay, our plans were changed completely for vacation. We had technically ONE day less of car rental use and in the end we paid nearly $500 just to have the car for less than 2 days. 2 hour phone conversation with Expedia, multiple agents, and AVIS phone calls.... no refund. None. In the end, I learned my lesson. Expedia charged over 100 additional dollar for their own taxes and fees and didn't tell us that AVIS will charge us at the desk too. Next time, I am NOT going through Expedia and book directly through a rental car agency.

Green Motion jobsworth left my family stranded | Expedia review from Edinburgh, Scotland

My family was effectively left stranded by Green Motion, for no fault of our own. We booked online with them via Expedia and arrived at Edinburgh Airport after a long flight. We had all the documents we were told to bring and a full UK driving licence. A dead-behind-the-eyes jobsworth demanded my husband's NI number, which he could not remember and as it was a Sunday, he couldn't access it via his employers. Bear in mind we had not been asked to provide this and it was not required on our booking documents. They refused to give us the car, even though this left us virtually stranded. While we were fruitlessly arguing with the staff - who were like robots - other customers were hanging around waiting for cars that weren't ready - and the staff were also very rude with anyone who complained. In the end, we gave up, got the bus back to the terminal, walked round to EuroCar and got a car without any fuss or bother. They now say we have to "apply for" a refund for a car they wouldn't give us! They're a disgrace.

Ignorance and bad treatment of Expedia with hotel booking shocking experience

I booked hotel through expedia, double bed for 2 people, 'Toronto North Travellers Home' in Toronto. I showed up and the it wasn't hotel but students rooming house, the owner showed me *** room in the basement in the furnace room, with single mattress and no beddings, obviously doesn't suit for 2 people, I cancelled and asked expedia for refund. They hanged up the phone on me the first time. The second time I called a day after they said they will send email to the hotel's owner and get back to me within 48 hours. They didn't. So far I didn't see refund only ignorant treatment
