What a unpleasant experience with Expedia
Tried to book online at least 2 times... All the efforts & time spent filling in all those forms & when it comes to the last stage for payment... It just keep reloading & loading & I was unable to book successfully! It was a waste of my time spending few hours online! When I was left with no choice, I had to call them up to do phone bookings! The call was being transferred to India! The guy seems to be helpful & understand what I was saying... I thought the bookings should be done perfectly as I confirm & reconfirm with him but yet he still got my name wrong & I had to go through all the trouble to get the names changed & was told by the AirAsia staff that the date of birth was wrong too! The charges of the package also different from what he had mentioned to me on the phone. I only confirmed with him when he had the same price as what I had searched online previously! But when I received the confirmation email, then only I realized that the charges were different! The kind of feelings really sucks! Are you all trying to cheat your customers or are your staffs not being well trained thus being so *** professional at all... I even tried to call up but the kind of attitude by your *** arrogant staff really pissed me off! I think he really have the guts to challenge the customers & the kind of tone & attitude he had doesn't seem to be fit into his customer service officer! Email being sent to Expedia doesn't seems to be helpful at all... Till today not even a reply from your respective department to settle my complain! Really will respond within 24 hours? What a laugh! All of your assurance are nothing but ***! With the kind of staffs you have & the way you handle your customers feedback, really sucks!
Expedia - Review in Travel Agencies category
Hello, I am so disappointed to see that Expedia has sent me a wrong itinerary. We are traveling with the Turkish airline 827 on the 8th of August to Vienna. Your itinerary said that our flight is at 9:00 am However when I checked the Turkish airlines flight, our plane leaves at 7:20 am. If I haven't checked by chance he flight we would have skipped it. I am sure you should have an logical explanation for that. I have always booked my flights on Expedia and I'm disappointed to see that It didn't send me a notice that the timing of he flight changed. Please I need you fix that problem as quickly as possible since Our flight is in 2 days. I'm sorry to say that it may be the last time for me to book with Expedia if the problem isn't solved. Booked and paid for2 return flights and 2 rooms package to bali. on arrival 1 room only | Expedia review from Perth, Western Australia
went to great lengths to book 2 separate rooms for friend and me, spelling everything several times, reconfirming over and over. dealt with booking operator Mahmoud who SEEMED to understand. He did repeat back to me all the details and everything appeared o.k. However on arrival....no taxi, which had been booked and paid for already. First issue. Made our own way to Swiss-Belinn Seminyak. Go to book in and surprise surprise only one room available due to Expedia only reserving one together for both of us for nine nights. No amount of pleading, arguing, anything got us the room we had already paid for. Tried over and over to access Expedia customer service. What a joke...there appears to be no such service. Unfortunately the rooms are so mjnjscule- the beds are about 10 cm apart, the balconies are about the size of a large bathmat and every room looks into every other room. The upshot is the room was too tiny for two adults and we had to leave the hotel and pay for another room at a different hotel for the remaining 7 nights. Only one room mind you but the bathroom there was twice as big as the whole room at the Swiss-Belinn. So, thanks to Expedia I paid for one room which didn't exist, a taxi which didn't arrive, an extra room at a different hotel and just to top things off when we get to the airport to fly home we were booked on a flight 12 hours LATER than the time we THOUGHT we had organized. Luckily we were able to re-arrange another flight home. Trying to get in touch with Expedia is pointless. They really don't want to know as long as they have your money. I will NEVER EVER use Expedia again and I have no hesitation in telling my friends and anyone who asks to avoid them like the plague. The service is non-existent. They are a second-rate operation and unfortunately I guess you really do get what you pay for. Be warned -avoid this company if you want a hassle-free trip.
Requested early check in and at least 2 dbl beds and were denied!!!! | Expedia review from Mexico City, Federal District
Reserved at Hampton Inn & Suites in Mexico City for 8/5/14-8/15/14, was nervous about rooms so I called hotel personally to request early check in (our flight got in at 5:04AM) and beds for 3 adults, front desk said it shouldn't be a problem, however, checked in today and was turned away and told not to come back for 9 hours until regular check in at 3pm!!!!! (No sleep, international flights) when we were able to check in the room had a double bed and a sofa bed (ugh), I was told that due to Expedia reservation this is all I would get since they didn't allow for any changes (seriously?).... We travel a lot and have never been treated like this, with so little consideration and in such a rude manner, plus reservations were paid for as well!!!! I will NEVER book with Hampton Inns or Expedia again, there are too many options out there to settle for a third class outfit and I will make sure everyone (online and not) hears about our experience.
Expedia - Reservation Review
Your customer service is horrible...I was on hold for 2 hours...was hung up on 3 times...I was trying to get my reservation fixed and all I got was unsatisfied..I asked for a room with a view of the animals and they booked me a pool view...no animals! I called them back...again...to switch it and was told it would cost more money....I then asked them to change the guest amount since that got messed up also and once again I was asked for more money!!!..I asked for some sort of compensation...a room upgrade something for such the inconvience and I was told there was nothing they could do...there are way too many sites out there to use...I have been with Expedia for 20 years and let me tell you I will Never use this company again! I am very tempted to just cancel my reservation all together but I do not trust Expedia to refund my money!
Tried to cancel a flight booked with expedia
poor customer support. Calling the office for ages with their 1 800 lines. still no replies. i think expedia should put all their local office land line for customer support available. Its the only way local ticket buyers can contact them and not thru the 1 800 lines. I called once and notice that the accent was local. when i told i wanted to cancel she suddenly changed accent/ diction. I think this is a scam to prevent us from making any changes in the travel plans. making it difficult for us to have a refund of our hard earned money.........................................................................................................................................................expedia really sucks big time
Review about Hotel Commendation from Tittabawassee Township, Michigan | Expedia review
I recently used expedia for hotel commendation in Detroit and will never use you again.
Ripped off in Santiago | Expedia review
Upon arriving at our hotel we immediately noticed the significant discrepancy in room rates that we had been charged through Expedia. The accommodation stank of fresh paint, the room didn't have a remote and they couldn't replace it, and the 'complimentary breakfast' consisted of a bowl in the room with biscuits and musli bars. Of course we couldn't get a refund an our opening two nights in Santiago were utterly disappointing and completely soured our experience of Chile for the outset. Expedia is a money grabbing churn and burn machine. My advice would be to use it as a resource but to never book through it. Most frustrating is the complete lack of customer service. It is a faceless organisation with no real platform to cater to client concerns, when you manage to locate a number, calls go unanswered, as do emails with no follow-up whatsoever.
Notified that my daughters flight home had been cancelled but no alternative | Expedia review
I had a generic email regarding my daughters return flight from America. I thought it was the usual time change until I read it and it said cancelled. If I had cancelled then ignore the email if not ring the Expedia number. Three days later, numerous calls, left on hold, told someone would ring me back I still do not have a flight home. I was then told i could have the day before or the day back which does not fit her trip. When I said that the terms and conditions said that i had to be given a superior or equivalent flight or compensation for over 12 hours i was put on hold again. i informed them of flights that was on the same day and that still couldn't be offered. I now after send my daughter 18 away with no idea how she is getting home. I am still on hold whilst writing this!
TERRIBLE company, and useless customer service | Expedia review from Miami, Florida
I've been a longtime customer with Expedia and spent several thousands of dollars over the years in different travel both local and international. I live in Miami I am planning a vacation trip to Spain to see my family by the end of the year, my mother is traveling from Spain to Miami, staying here a couple of days and then helping me go to Spain by carrying one of my baby twins (which in the moment of travel are gonna be 8 months old). I purchased the ticket through Expedia and they don't have a option to pick which way the infant travels or not so my baby show like he is traveling from Spain to Miami and back to Spain, when in reality he is only traveling from Miami to Spain. Iberia told us to please contact Expedia and have them change that ticket showing that he is only going to travel from Miami to Spain, if we don't make the change the airline will not let the baby travel since he didn't do the first part of the ticket, Iberia told us that the change can be done, just that Expedia has to do it since they are the ones that issued the reservation and ticket. This started about a week ago, and today (07/24/14) still Expedia will not do the change even though we've been on the phone countless times with Iberia and they tell us the change can be done but the travel agency (Expedia) has to do it. As of right now, the issue is not resolved and we are seeing ourselves forced the purchase another ticket (because the original ticket is not refundable or not even creditable to future travels) and see $1300 thrown in the garbage because people at the Expedia call center does not want to do their work. Today, after being on the phone with Iberia again, they gave us a number to tell Expedia to call, supposedly they did, but after telling us again that the change can't be done, I requested the recording ID of that call and they refused to provide it, also this very same person asked me "why isn't the baby traveling both ways?", To which I replied "have you not listened to anything I just explained to you? and why we need to do this? Also, that none of their business how I decide to do my traveling. On that last call also my hold time was exactly of 2 hours 25 minutes and 26 second, when I had to hang up because my baby twins woke up from their nap and started crying. I will have to purchase another ticket most likely, but I will never ever again do business with Expedia, hope we can solve this somehow. Thank you
