expedia is the worst. i booked different hotels through expedia for a road trip and they charged my credit cards right away even though the trip was 6 weeks from when they charged my credit card. this caused me to overdraft on my debit card and credit card which caused me a world of trouble. i called customer services and was told all they could do is cancel my reservation but there would be a fee involved. this ***. who does this, charges your credit card six weeks before you stay in the hotel? I was told this was standard. this is not standard!

it says right on the website your being charged the minute you press submit. maybe you should read better before you book anything. thats the whole purpose of finding rooms at cheaper prices is because you book right then. it is very standard on ALL of those types of sites. consumers who dont do their research or even read, just a little, look ridiculous.
