Jan.5,2014 I went online to order a plane ticket from tampa to milwaukee to be used in March. I did not submit this ticket because I wnted to make sure I got the right dates. Called my bank to make sure the $300 did not go through. They told me I needed to contact expedia. This was Jan.6,2014. What happened to you Expedia?? Did you at least take some time to gaze at the scenery on the way down after you took a swan dive off the face of a cliff? Actually, you didn't even swan dive, you just haphazardly jumped. This company's "customer service" is a perfect example of what happens when you screw all of your American employees over and shut down all the American call centers to outsource your customer service. We booked an Alamo car rental through Expedia and paid $30 for collision insurance. When we arrived to pick up the car, Alamo had no record of the insurance nor did they recognize the Expedia insurance as a valid insurance type. We had to call Expedia twice to get a refund for the fake insurance. The first call ended after waiting on the phone for 45 minutes while the customer service rep contacted her supervisor. I have used Expedia for many travel related bookings for over 10 years now. I searched car rentals in Orlando through Expedia and found what I believed was a good deal with Economy Car Rental in Orlando. This deal turned into a nightmare. It all started at the Orlando Airport. We called the courtesy phone and hiked from one end of the airport to the other. Awful Customer Service! I ended up with (1) no credit on Hotels.com for 3 nights in a posh hotel because (2) I was foolish enough to book a "package" when I could have found a cheaper flight without hotels.com and (3) I did not receive confirmation of my flight within 24 hours of departure, so I called hotels.com customer service. Yes, I got confirmation alright! They DOUBLE BOOKED ME, the idiots! So then I go to the airport and Air India thinks there are two of me! And then the Taj hotel thinks I want two rooms! do not book with 3rd party hosts like Expedia. I am pregnant and was was advised not to fly to my destination due to the climate and the potential for mosquitos carrying Zika. Not to mention, my flying has been changed by Expedia twice since booking two months ago. My complaint is that this company has no sense of customer care or support. For one, if I purchase a ticket based on a certain time frame, I should be allowed to cancel or rebook if that arrangement has been altered. I bought a last minute deal with expidia from miami to punta cana all inclusive , as i am trveljng to american and carabbien by my self i rather do the all inclusive deals . So i book the holidayd cost me 1100 dollars for 4 days , after 3 hours i got a cancelation email sayn that expedia had to cancel my trip . I always used expedia for all my trips. This one trip was going well until we were on checking in for the way home. The app i downloaded and printed my flight info all had the same time. Apprently our flight number and time was changed to later. So we arrived at the airport wayyy to early and our app never even had a new time. Apprently expedia changed our flight. Expedia advertised that if you booked 6 nights hotel, you got one free. I did so, spoke with a sales rep, who quoted me a price for 5 nights hotel. Then they charged my credit card for the rate for 6 nights. I spent over 2 1/2 hours on the phone with them trying to get it resolved. Their idea of customer service is to just put you on hold until you hang up. I was put on hold to speak with a manager twice and waited 30 minutes, no one ever answered. I have purchased 3 flight tickets and i cacelled the booking within 24 hours which you get a free cancellation and a full refund . I was promised to get my refund within 3 business days but after one week the money was not refunded i kept folowing up via calls they kept me on hold for hours and kept sending dozens of email every time they keep saying the same thing first they told after 3 days and then after a week and then after 8 weeks it's been 17 days now and i still haven't receive my refund . I booked a private car to take me from the Charleston airport to and from my hotel through Expedia. I contacted the car service when I got to the airport and was told the car company would call when they were there. No call. Long story short- over 2 hours later that included nonstop calls, put on hold, answering machines and 6 different "customer service" people, I was told they couldn't reach anyone in Charleston and that I would need to make other arrangements.
